Whilst the dust is still settling at the large warehouse refurbishment in Redditch carried out by D Hammond earlier this year, due to market interest the landlord has requested a very large variation to the contract.
Happy with the work carried out to this point, which involved the stripping out and complete refurbishment of the warehouse, Savills were asked by the landlord to instruct D Hammond to carry out further alterations, improvements and additional work.
The modifications involve creating an entirely new additional forecourt and installing seven loading bay shutters to the end of the warehouse, incorporating new steelwork and cladding alterations. Excavation has already begun, huge drainage tanks installed and the concrete is about to be laid.
Whilst this work was not planned and certainly not programmed, the expertise of the D Hammond project management team to be able to re-programme and continue on site without having to delay any other project is impressive. Recognition must also go to the various specialist trades who have made themselves available at such short notice, just one of the many benefits of forging such strong and mutually respectful relationships with all our approved subcontractors.
